I think you've over thinking. He's not slow or purple basically what the first clue says, rather he's _____ and _______. And the second eliminates mario and dk, so that only leaves....

My favorite tv show is about four boys walking down a railroad track. Even though it's always the same scene, I just can't get enough of it.

Sorry, didn't see this post earlier. I guess Sephiroth might technically count, but I'm thinking of another game/character. The father who the rivals are cloned from is only considered a terrorist in the first games. You actually play as him in one of the later installments.
